Makeshift Work Space

Vancouver entrepreneur Monique Cherrie saw an opportunity to open a coworking space in a busy neighbourhood and asked me to help develop the brand and supporting marketing materials. With the coworking market at its peak, a clear business position gave us a strong starting point for the brand strategy.

Monique envisioned a bright, welcoming identity, which we built around three brand archetypes—most notably The Jester. This inspired a vibrant colour palette, whimsical illustrations, and a conversational voice that matched the playful, community-driven feel of the physical space.

Partnering with graphic designer Paperclip Creative, we brought the brand to life within a small start-up business budget through cohesive digital strategy, website development, and marketing collateral.

Though the business closed in late 2024, Makeshift Work Space remains a standout example of how a strong concept and creative identity can define a new venture.
